We can assess our students in the 8 essential skills for the work place; listening, speaking, problem-solving, creativity, staying positive, aiming high, leadership and teamwork. We will assess what the students strengths are and what they need to improve.

Skills Builder promotes these essential skills which compliments their employability and work experience. In addition to work experience, students take part in fun activities to embed these skills such as project days and field trips.

Each term students are assessed/base lined in one skill, and then they are reassessed at the end of the term to measure progress. Examples of projects this year are designing a house, creating a floor plan for a sports events, taking part in bike maintenance and team building activities to Austerfield Study Centre. We have just achieved the Gold Skills Builder Award.
